Hockensmith’s, Fine Art Editions Gallery & Press in Georgetown, Ky recently sold the beautiful piece, “Ginkgo,” to the elegant events venue Apiary Fine Catering and Events in Lexington, Ky. “Ginkgo” is an 8.5 x 9 feet mixed media painting where Helene Steene mixes traditional techniques (oil glazes and marble dust mixtures) with industrial materials (brushed aluminum) in an abstract manner. The strong beauty of the piece, and her inventiveness and depth in colors, falls in line with the elegant ambiance and extraordinary attention to details at The Apiary.
